MISSION STATEMENT

The Mobile Mine Assembly Group (MOMAG), based at Naval Air Station Corpus Christi--and its Mobile Mine Assembly Units (MOMAUs) and Detachments around the world--maintain the U. S. Navy's stockpile of underwater mines at the highest state of material readiness. When directed by appropriate authority, the MOMAUS and Detachments assemble and complete final preparations on Prepositioned War Reserve  Mine assets  to support those offensive/defensive mining operations defined in  Commander, U.S. Atlantic Fleet (COMLANTFLT), Commander, U.S. Pacific Fleet (COMPACFLT) and Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Europe (COMUSNAVEUR) general warfare and contingency plans.  MOMAG is also responsible for the maintenance and  preparation of Mine Exercise and Training (MET) assets used in US Navy and US Air force mining exercises.
