Lieutenant Commander Steven T. Reith, Surface Ordnance Officer/6160

Lieutenant Commander Steven Reith, a native of Scottsdale Arizona, enlisted in the United States Navy under the Airman/Seaman Apprentice Program in September 1983 and earned his commission in January 1999 through the Limited Duty Officer program.

Lieutenant Commander Reith assumed command of Mobile Mine Assembly Unit TEN in October of 2008. 

Lieutenant Commander Reith’s most recent assignment prior to command was from October 2006 to August 2008 assigned to the staff of the Commander, U.S. Third Fleet as The Fleet Ordnance and Materials Officer in support of the Commander and the operational control, training and readiness of Eastern Pacific Fleet Forces and homeland defense. 

From June 2004 to September 2006 he was assigned aboard USS ANTIETAM (CG-54) as System Test Officer deploying to the Arabian Gulf as Air Defense Commander CCSG-3, and CTF-58 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and completing an around the world deployment.

In April 2002 he reported aboard Tactical Training Group, Pacific. Primary duties were the advanced training of Naval, Joint and Coalition deploying staffs in the employment of multi-warfare capabilities, methods, tactics and command and control systems.        

Lieutenant Commander Reith commissioned in January 1999 reporting aboard USS MILIUS (DDG-69) as System Test Officer during which time he deployed to the Arabian Gulf in support of Maritime Security Operations, National Command Authority Data Collection Missions, and Operation Noble Eagle.

Lieutenant Commander Reith’s enlisted assignments include assignments at NAS Agana Guam Aviation Ordnance Team Leader, USS MIDWAY (CV-41) Aviation Bomb & Missile Team Leader, Fleet Activities Yokosuka Advanced Undersea Weapons Technician, USS MCKEE (AS-41) Weapons Handling Supervisor, Fleet Activities Yokosuka (2^nd Tour) Ordnance Quality Assurance Chief Inspector &, Leading Chief Petty Officer and Fleet Activities Sasebo Explosive Safety & Training Officer.
