
LCDR Goode was born on 24 July 1961, in St, Petersburg, Florida. He grew up in the Tampa Bay area until the age of nine and then moved to Atlanta,Georgia, an area he still calls home. He graduated from Tampa Jesuit High School in May of 1979 and continued his education throughout his Naval career. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems Management from the University of Maryland.
He entered the Navy on 24 November 1984 and attended boot camp and Basic Electricity and Electronics school in San Diego. He then finished his schooling pipeline by completing Fire Control "A: school in Great Lakes, Illinois, and AN/SPG-55B "C" school in Mare Island, California.
FC3 Goode reported to his first sea duty assignment as a technician onboard the USS DALE (CG 19). FC2(SW) finished his tour as a Work Center Supervisor.
FC1(SW) Goode reported to the Naval Electronics System Engineering Activity in St. Inigoes, Maryland for Shore duty in January of 1990. While there he served as the Navy liaison of a congressionally mandated project: Ships' Airborne Radar Target Identification System (SARTIS).
After attending AEGIS FCS and Systems "C" schools in Dahlgren. Virginia, FCC(SW) Goode reported aboard USS LAKE ERIE (CG 70) in the summer of 1995. While serving as LCPO for CF Division he qualified as CSOOW, CSC, AAWC and JOOD.
In June of 1998, FCCS(SW) Goode accepted a commission as a Limited Duty Officer, and after completing LDO/CWO Indoctrination reported aboard the USS MOUNT HOOD (AE 29) as Ship's Gunner, where he completed qualification as a Surface Warfare Officer.
After decommissioning the USS MOUNT HOOD, he reported to Dahlgren for the Maintenance Manager, CSO and FAADWC courses. Upon completion, he reported to the USS GETTYSBURG (CG 64) as Systems Test Officer. He then reported to AMMOLANT Norfolk in November of 2001, where he completed a tour as the Surface Ordnance Logistics Officer.
He reported to The Board of Inspection and Survey in July of 2003 where he served as a Weapons Systems Inspector. Transferring to CTF-53 in July of 2005, he completed a highly successful tour as the Fifth Fleet Ordnance Officer.
Reporting for duty as Executive Officer of MOMAU ELEVEN in October of 2006, LCDR Goode assumed Command in August 2008 and currently resides with his wife and daughter. He has two children from a previous marriage, and his son has started the second generation of this family's naval service.
