Welcome Aboard MOBILE MINE ASSEMBLY UNIT (MOMAU) ELEVEN located onboard Naval Weapon Station Charleston, in Goose Creek, SC. There are approximately 6 officers and 90 enlisted Sailors, both active duty and reserve, onboard. The crew is comprised of Mineman (MN), Information Systems Technicians (IT), Store Keepers (SK), Personnelmen (PS) and Yeomen (YN) ratings lead by officers from Limited Duty and Chief Warrant Officer community. Our primary missions are:
1) To assembly and provide Service (explosive) Mines for Strategic, Operational, or Tactical missions as required by EUCOM/NATO (C6F), CENTCOM (C5F), NORTHCOM (C2F), or SOUTHCOM (C2F) to meet National Defense Strategy requirements.
2) To maintain the Preposition War Reserve Material Stock (PWRMS) Service mines
3) To provide Exercise and Training (ET) mines and material including Versatile Exercise Mines (VEMS) to Allied, Joint, and Naval forces.
To meet these missions, TEAM ELEVEN rapidly deploys Mine Assembly Teams (MAT) to afloat combatants, auxiliary vessels, and ashore activities both overseas and in the U.S. for training, assembly, and final preparation of mines.
