Commanding Officer, Mobile Mine Assembly Detachment TWELVE

LT Ross M. Anderson hails from Alexandria, MN and joined the Navy on 19 September 1988.  Following Basic Submarine school and Fire Control “A” and “C” schools, he reported to USS GEORGE BANCROFT (SSBN 643) inCharleston, South Carolina as a member of the FT Division. In March of 1993 after decommissioning the USS GEORGE BANCROFT, he returned to Groton, Connecticut for a follow on FT “C” school for a fast attacksubmarine.  Upon completion of school in March of 1994, he reported aboard USS TUNNY (SSN 682) as a member of the FT  Division until her decommissioning.  In October of 1997, LT Anderson reported to Commander Submarine Squadron One (CSS-1) as the Staff Fire Control Assistant.  While attached to the staff of COMSUBSQD-1 he was selected for Chief Petty Officer.  In September of 1999 he stood up Naval Submarine Support Command, which was in charge of the material condition and logistic  support of all Pearl Harbor based submarines along with all visiting submarines. 

 

LT Anderson was commissioned in July 2001 as a Limited Duty Officer, Surface Ordnance. He did his first Officer tour on the USS FITZGERALD (DDG 62) from December 2001 until March 2004 as the Systems Test Officer. Upon completion of that tour he reported to the USS JOHN S. MCCAIN where he served as the Systems Test officer until September 2007.  LT Anderson’s personal awards include the Navy Commendation Medal (four awards) and the Navy Achievement Medal (five awards).  LT Anderson is married to Kaja Lee.
