Commanding Officer,  Mobile Mine Assembly Unit FIFTEEN

LT Mike McGregor was born in 1969 and is from Hesperia California.  He enlisted in the U.S. Navy as a Gunner’s Mate (Guns) in 1987.  His enlisted tours of duty include:  USS SAN JOSE (AFS-7) in 1988 out of Aguana, Guam; Special Boat Unit TWENTY-SIX in 1991 on the Panama Canal, Panama; USS SCOUT (MCM-8) in 1994 out of Ingleside, Texas; Commander Regional Support Group in 1996 located in Ingleside Texas; and USS RAINIER (AOE-7) in 1999 out of Bremerton, Washington. 

 

In May of 2000, he was commissioned as Limited Duty Officer (LDO) Ordnance Officer and reported to Commander Fleet Activities Yokosuka, Japan as the Receipt Segregation and Issue Officer. In 2002, he checked onboard the USS CHANCELLORSVILLE (CG-62) and served as both the Weapons Department Officer and the Systems Test Officer, where he earned his Surface Warfare Officer (SWO) pin and was designated as Tactical Action Officer.  In July of 2005, he reported onboard Commander Mobile Mine Assembly Group (COMOMAG) as the Operations Officer where he managed the Navy’s Stock pile of Underwater Sea Mines and the six Mobile Mine Assembly Shops located worldwide.  In October of 2007, he received his current assignment as Commanding Officer of Mobile Mine Assembly Unit FIFTEEN (MOMAU 15).

 

Lieutenant Michael S. McGregor has a Bachelors Degree in Business Management.  His personal awards include Navy Commendation Medal (four awards) and Navy Achievement Medal (three awards) with various service, unit, and campaign awards.
