MOMAU EIGHT'S MISSION

Supports general wartime, contingency, and peacetime training plans of COMPACFLT. Maintain the highest standards of underwater mine material readiness. When directed by appropriate war plan execution authority, MOMAU 8 will assemble, deliver and complete the final preparation of Prepositioned War Reserve Material Stock (PWRMS) service underwater mines. Maintain trained personnel for contingency final mine preparation and surface mine laying operations. Maintain material readiness of stocked ET mines. Provide final preparation and support service for MIW training, fleet exercises, inspections and special operations.

Customers: USN delivery platforms are submarines, surface vessels, aircraft and USAF B52, B-1 and B-2 aircraft. Equipment: COMNAVMAR provides and maintains MHE. Facilities: 2 Underwater Mine Assembly/Maintenance Buildings, 4 Inert warehouses and 12 Magazines. Assigned Reserve Units: NR MOMAU 9 Dallas, TX NR MOMAU 10 El Paso, TX
